Indian carriers to order 1,200-1,400 more planes in next few years: Scindia

Indian aviation has touched new highs in the last nine years and is poised for accelerated further growth in coming years, Union aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Wednesday while giving a report card of the sector’s performance in the Modi government. He said airport sector will see an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore and Indian airlines will order an additional 1,200-1,400 aircraft in the next few years, leading to massive direct and indirect job creation in the country.
