IndiaTimes Friday, 13 October 2023
The UK competition watchdog has approved Microsoft's $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, removing the final major hurdle for the gaming deal to be completed. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) stated that Microsoft's revised offer to sell some gaming rights to Ubisoft Entertainment satisfied competition concerns. Once finalized, Microsoft will oversee popular franchises such as Call of Duty and Candy Crush, aiming to break into the mobile gaming market.
