Sensex, Nifty end higher on good results from blue-chips

India's blue-chip indexes, the NSE Nifty 50 and the S&P BSE Sensex, ended Monday with gains, supported by strong quarterly earnings from Reliance Industries. Reliance posted a 27.4% rise in consolidated profit for the second quarter. The company's positive performance led to gains in the energy and oil & gas indexes. Other companies, including Bharat Petroleum Corp and Cipla, also reported strong earnings, contributing to the market's rise. The domestically focused small- and mid-cap stocks underperformed the blue-chips.
