Exxon Mobil CEO rejects International Energy Agency's claim that carbon capture is an "illusion" and applies the same criticism to electric vehicles and solar energy. Woods argues that no current solution is at the scale to solve the climate change problem. Despite the lack of commercially viable carbon-capture projects, EVs represent 13% of the global new vehicle market, and solar and wind deployments are expanding. Exxon has invested $17 billion in its low carbon business, including carbon capture.
