Biden Administration allows US trade tribunal's ban on Apple Watch imports

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 26 December 2023
The US President Joe Biden's administration has declined to veto a ban on imports of Apple Watches that use patent-infringing technology for reading blood-oxygen levels. The ban, based on a complaint from medical monitoring technology company Masimo, will go into effect on Dec. 26. Apple has paused the sales of its Series 9 and Ultra 2 smartwatches in the United States since last week. Masimo accuses Apple of stealing its pulse oximetry technology. Apple can appeal the ban to the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
