India cuts import duty for mobile phone components to 10%

India has reduced import duties on some parts used in the manufacture of mobile phones from 15% to 10%, helping companies such as Apple and Xiaomi that manufacture in Asia's third largest economy. The import tariff on battery covers, main camera lenses, rear covers, other mechanical products made of plastic and metal, GSM antennas, and other parts has been decreased to 10%.
