FMCG companies reported single-digit volume growth with improved margins in December quarter, aided by moderating commodity inflation. Companies like HUL, ITC, Marico, Dabur, and Godrej consumer products see moderate growth in urban markets, while rural demand remains subdued. Late arrival of winter affected sales of lotions, oils, and creams. HUL reported a muted growth in consolidated net profit at Rs 2,508 crore.
