On Saturday, the Oklahoma State Patrol announced the closure of a highway south of Sallisaw following a barge collision with a bridge over the Arkansas River. Troopers took action around 1:25 pm upon receiving reports of the incident, redirecting traffic away from the affected area, according to state patrol spokesperson Sarah Stewart.
