Chiranjeevi Blood Bank defamation case: Rajasekhar and Jeevitha receive one-year jail sentence

Telugu actors Rajasekhar and Jeevitha have been sentenced to one year in jail by a Nampally court in a defamation case filed by Allu Aravind, brother-in-law of Chiranjeevi. The case dates back to 2011 when Rajasekhar and Jeevitha alleged irregularities in the operation of the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank, accusing it of selling blood on the black market. After a lengthy legal process, the Nampally chief magistrate pronounced the verdict on July 18. In addition to the jail term, the couple was fined Rs 5 lakh for their defamatory remarks. They have been granted bail and have the option to appeal the decision in a higher court.
