'The Exorcist: Believer' takes over No 1 spot

The Exorcist reboot of the horror film earned $27.2 million in North America and $17.9 million internationally. Despite missing initial estimates, it had the best opening for the weekend. The film's total global opening was $45.1 million. Universal acquired the franchise rights for $400 million, but the film's production cost was only $30 million.
