'Merry Christmas' opens with just 2.55 crore

Despite the buzz, 'Merry Christmas' had a disappointing opening day at the box office, earning only Rs 2.55 crore. The film stars Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in unconventional roles as two strangers who meet on Christmas eve. Director Sriram Raghavan chose this out-of-the-box pairing because he wanted an X factor that was missing in conventional pairings.
