The government has allowed family pensioners, including parents or spouse, to change their date of birth records in case of any anomaly.The objective is to ensure timely enhancement of the social security benefit to them.According to a Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions circular, the head of the department where the deceased government servant served, can allow change in date of birth of family pensioner in the Pension Payment Order.According to the circular, the beneficiary of family pension will have to submit a request with the head of the department concerned with age proofs including, PAN card, matriculation certificate, voters card and Aadhaar number and an affidavit in this regard.
