CBI takes over 6 Manipur violence cases, sets up SIT

The CBI on Friday registered six FIRs and constituted a SIT to probe the incidents of large-scale violence in Manipur last month. The 10-member SIT will be led by a DIG rank officer, sources said and the cases recommended include a common conspiracy case to investigate if the ethnic violence was pre-planned.
