Biparjoy likely to stretch nearly 10 days; Arabian Sea cyclones are lasting longer
Biparjoy, which formed into a cyclonic storm on June 6, is expected to hit the Kutch coast after having existed as a cyclone over the Arabian Sea for nearly 10 days. This makes it one of the longest lasting cyclones to impact India in recent decades. It has been reported that cyclonic storms over the Arabian Sea are becoming more frequent and severe under the influence of global warming.
