China conflating boundary question with border peace and tranquility: Jaishankar
Sunday, 18 June 2023 Amid claims by China that the border situation is stable and the suggestion that the time is right to resume bilateral exchanges between the 2 countries, foreign minister S Jaishankar said Beijing had been conflating the very distinct issues of solving the overall boundary question and ensuring peace and tranquility at the border for the development of ties.
The Indian embassy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, advised Indian students to stay indoors amid reports of mob violence against international students. Recent violence escalated after footage of a brawl between Egyptian and Kyrgyz students surfaced. The Indian embassy is in communication with the students and provided a helpline. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar confirmed monitoring the situation, urging students to remain in touch with the embassy.
