Nipah: Kerala government strengthens measures to prevent spread of virus
The Kerala government has declared seven village panchayats as containment zones to prevent the spread of Nipah infection. No travel in or out of these zones will be allowed, and essential stores and medical supplies will remain open. Other institutions such as banks, schools, and anganwadis will be closed. Social distancing, mask-wearing, and the use of sanitizer are encouraged within the containment zones.
