Road accident deaths drop in Tamil Nadu as ambulances reach faster
Wednesday, 20 September 2023
The number of road accident deaths in Tamil Nadu has decreased by 7% compared to last year, resulting in a lower fatality rate. This improvement can be attributed to the placement of ambulances closer to accident-prone areas and the training of emergency technicians to provide immediate care. Patients are now being taken directly to hospitals with adequate facilities, leading to a higher percentage of patients reaching government medical college hospitals within the golden hour. Additionally, patients are covered under the Inyur Kakkum48 scheme, which provides financial assistance for medical procedures.
