NDMA wants no-construction areas in hills
NDMA has recommended that no construction should be allowed within 250m of the landslide areas shown under the landslide hazard zonation (LHZ) map of Uttarakhand's mountainous region, reports Gaurav Talwar. A report compiled by NDMA with regard to subsidence-hit Joshimath and similar towns in the hills also says no type of construction should be be allowed up to 50m on either side of the seismic fault line.
