Nepal earthquake warning lost in phone app transition

The 'Bhookamp Alert App' developed by IIT-Roorkee and launched by the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority in August 2021 failed to deliver early earthquake warnings to residents. The app was replaced with the BhuDev app in March 2022, but users were not informed about the transition. This lack of communication was criticized by users who were unaware of the new app.
