Gujarat: ATMs dishing out any time health checks in lion's abode

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 10 October 2023
In the district of Junagadh in Gujarat, India, primary healthcare centres (PHCs) have installed custom-made 'health ATMs' that offer a range of health check-up facilities. These machines can conduct up to 40 vital body profile tests, including tests for cancer, HIV, and cardiac diseases. The machines, costing Rs 5 lakh each, have been funded by the district administration and local MLAs. Once diagnosed, the PHCs will send the reports to senior doctors in the civil hospital for treatment through telemedicine.
