NIA arrests absconding PFI member from Mallapuram in murder of RSS leader Srinivasan
Friday, 20 October 2023 The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Shihab, a member of the Popular Front of India (PFI), in connection with the murder of an RSS leader in Kerala. Shihab was on the run since the crime took place and was traced to his residence in Malappuram. The NIA alleges that he was part of the PFI terror eco-system that orchestrated the murder. This arrest comes after another accused, Saheer, was apprehended in May. The NIA had previously filed a chargesheet against 59 individuals in the case.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended two suspects - Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taha - in connection with Bengaluru's Rameswaram Cafe blast case on Friday. The two were nabbed near West Bengal's Kolkata. Mussavir Hussain Shazib has been identified as the alleged "mastermind" behind the low-intensity blast that occurred at a prominent eatery in Bengaluru on March 1. Shazib is accused of placing the improvised explosive device (IED) at the cafe. Additionally, Abdul Matheen Taha is implicated as a co-conspirator in the incident. Both Taha and Shazib hail from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district, according to statements from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
