IndiaTimes Wednesday, 25 October 2023
Four men were arrested in Karnataka for running a gender identification and feticide racket. The police became suspicious when they spotted a car speeding away during a routine vehicle check. After a chase, the car was stopped and two men and a pregnant woman were found inside. The men admitted that they would determine the gender of the fetus and if it was female and unwanted, they would help the woman get an abortion. The gang charged around Rs 25,000 for each feticide.
