Villages like Ganda, Kinnar, and Kutia Kheri have been given new names like Ajit Nagar, Gaibi Nagar, and Veerpur. Muslim-sounding village names have also been changed, such as Mustafabad becoming Saraswati Nagar and Mohammadheri becoming Brahampuri. The renaming process took place from June 2015 to August 2021, with residents of these villages having long sought a change due to the embarrassment and humiliation associated with the old names.

The BJP's Central Election Committee finalized approximately 90 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, including Khattar from Karnal.
