No system of 360° appraisal exists, DoPT tells CAT

The central government's personnel department has stated in an affidavit to the Central Administrative Tribunal that there is no system of 360-degree appraisal for the empanelment of government officials, and there are no records of such appraisals. The Department of Personnel and Training submitted this response to a case filed by IFS officer Sanjeev Chaturvedi, who is seeking records of all documents related to his rejection for empanelment as a joint secretary or equivalent in the Centre. The government has previously informed Chaturvedi that he was not empanelled for this position.
