Monday, 30 October 2023 Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met with Governor Ramesh Bais to discuss the Maratha reservation issue and the law and order situation amid violent protests targeting the homes and offices of MLAs. However, speculation arose as the Supreme Court directed the assembly Speaker to decide on disqualification petitions of Shiv Sena MLAs by December 31. CM Shinde called for a meeting with Shiv Sena MLAs and MPs to discuss the Maratha reservation protests and likely the disqualification case.
