Central Information Commission may become defunct on Tuesday as terms of 3 ICs end

The Central Information Commission (CIC) in India is at risk of becoming defunct as the terms of the remaining three information commissioners are set to end on Monday. The CIC has been without a chief for a month since YK Sinha's tenure ended. The Prime Minister-led selection committee has already met to discuss the appointment of new commissioners. If appointments are not made by Monday, the commission will be left with no commissioners.
