Rajasthan polls: Gehlot loyalist among 21 in Congress's final list
Monday, 6 November 2023 Congress unveiled its seventh and final list of 21 candidates on Sunday night for the November 25 Rajasthan assembly elections, with the latest line-up reflecting the influence of chief minister Ashok Gehlot in the selection process as controversial minister Shanti Dhariwal was nominated for the Kota North constituency. Like in 2018, Congress has fielded candidates in 199 of the state's 200 constituencies, leaving Bharatpur to its ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).
Two important seats, Amethi & Raebareli, are also up for polling today as the Lok Sabha elections enter their fifth phase. These elections will be fascinating to watch because of the high stakes and the participation of notable leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Smriti Irani. We spoke with Raman Malik of the BJP and Anand Madhab of the Indian National Congress to learn more about their ground reports on what to expect in Raebareli and Amethi.
