Battle for Dantewada: Bastar tiger Mahendra Karma's son in high-stakes assembly race
Chhavindra Karma, son of late Congress leader Mahendra Karma, is contesting for the Dantewada assembly seat in Chhattisgarh. His mother, Devti Karma, stepped aside to support him in the election. The constituency, known for Maoist insurgency, has a history of violence and underdevelopment. Villagers are demanding employment opportunities and better infrastructure. In the previous election, Dantewada had a high percentage of NOTA votes. Chhavindra Karma is competing against candidates from the BJP, BSP, AAP, JCC (J), CPI, and an independent candidate.
