Nagpur: Doctor sedates 4 patients, leaves them in OT for 4-hour tea break

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 8 November 2023
Four women were left sedated and unattended for four hours at a government-aided tubectomy camp in Khat village, Nagpur. The surgeon administered anesthesia and went for a long tea break, leaving the patients in the makeshift operation theatre. The surgeon claimed he left due to a hypoglycemic attack as he is diabetic. An inquiry has been initiated by the government panel to investigate the incident. All eight operations scheduled for the camp were successful, but it is unclear if the same surgeon completed the remaining four operations.
