Globally, air traffic now 97% of pre-Covid level: IATA

India's domestic air travel demand increased by approximately 17% in September compared to the same period last year, ranking third globally behind China and Japan. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reported that total air traffic, including domestic and international, rose by 30% in September 2023 compared to September 2022. Despite China's significant growth in domestic passenger markets, India and Australia had the highest domestic passenger load factor at 84.7%, while international traffic increased by 31% year-on-year.
