‘I’m alive’, boy tells Supreme Court at hearing of his ‘murder’ case
An 11-year-old boy from Pilibhit appeared before the Supreme Court to claim that the murder case against his grandfather and uncles was false and that he was alive. The boy had been living with his grandfather since his mother died due to domestic violence. The grandfather had filed an FIR against his son-in-law for dowry death, leading to a bitter legal battle. The Supreme Court has accepted the petition and ordered that no coercive steps be taken against the accused until further notice. The case will be heard in January.
