Delhi: Doctor seeks Rs 113 refund from cab service, loses Rs 5 lakh

A doctor in New Delhi lost Rs 4.9 lakh in a digital fraud after seeking a refund of Rs 113 from a cab service company. He called a number he found online, believing it belonged to the cab company's customer care. The person who answered posed as a representative and asked the doctor to download a remote sensing application. He then instructed the doctor to enter his phone number digits in the refund field, which led to multiple fraudulent transactions. The police have registered a case and formed teams to investigate the scam.
