Tuesday, 21 November 2023 Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao criticized the Congress party, questioning the need for a regime like Indira Gandhi's, stating that nothing good happened during that period. He highlighted the poor conditions of the marginalized communities and the imposition of the emergency. KCR emphasized the success of the 'Rythu Bandhu' scheme and assured that it will continue if his party wins. He urged the people to carefully choose their candidate and consider their party's history and ideology. Telangana will hold Assembly elections on November 30.
On Wednesday, the Election Commission took action against former Telangana CM and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, barring him from campaigning for 48 hours, effective from 8 pm today. This decision was made due to "derogatory and objectionable statements" made by Rao against the Congress party. The EC's action followed a complaint filed by Congress leader G Niranjan, prompting the commission to issue a notice to K Chandrashekar Rao. The EC noted that Rao had previously received several advisories and instructions regarding his speeches.
