Row over Danish Ali protest against Ramesh Bidhuri leads to Lok Sabha adjournment
Monday, 4 December 2023 Lok Sabha adjourned within minutes as Speaker Birla objected to Danish Ali wearing placards protesting against BJP MP Bidhuri's remarks. Ali demanded action against Bidhuri, wearing placards with messages 'Insult to MP is insult to Parliament' and 'Punish Bidhuri, Save democracy'. Parliamentary affairs minister Joshi requested Ali to remove placards. Birla told Ali to leave the House for breaking rules. PM Modi, ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Sonia Gandhi were present.
The second phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh on April 26 holds high stakes for several prominent faces, including actress Hema Malini, actor Arun Govil, and former BSP leader Danish Ali. In the eight constituencies going to polls – Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and Mathura – unemployment has emerged as a major concern, with youth expressing anger over recruitment exam paper leaks and lack of job opportunities. The BJP had won seven of these seats in 2019, with Amroha being the lone exception, where Danish Ali had emerged victorious on a joint BSP-SP-RLD ticket. Oneindia brings you special reports.
