Engr tricks cops, villagers get Rs 5L traffic fine notices

A man in Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagara district posted images captured on his private CCTV cameras of traffic violations committed by villagers, which he later posted on the city traffic police's app. The man tricked Bengaluru traffic police into assuming that the violations were committed within city limits, resulting in the offenders being bombarded with fines. The accused had land disputes with many of the villagers and uploaded the CCTV footage out of vengeance. The villagers have filed a complaint against the engineer for misleading the traffic police.
