Dr E A Ruwise pressured Shahana's family for a hefty dowry. Shahana's brother revealed that Ruwise's family demanded a dowry on par with their wealth. Ruwise started discussing dowry after the marriage was fixed. Shahana sent Ruwise a message about ending her life, but he blocked her. Ruwise's mobile phone was examined and chats with Shahana were deleted. Ruwise's father is absconding and likely to be included as an accused.
