Bacteria alert from antibiotics in chicken

IndiaTimes Monday, 18 December 2023
A state government wing has written to the animal husbandry department, flagging the risks of indiscriminately injecting antibiotics in poultry. Senior physicians in the city consider this letter timely and important. Bacterial infections have emerged as a major problem and cause of death in hospitals due to the development of serious resistance to more than 20 antibiotics in humans. A recent study found significant traces of antibiotics in chicken samples, which contributes to the high resistance against certain antibiotics in hospitals.
