India sees single-day rise of 529 Covid cases

On Wednesday, India's health ministry reported 529 new cases of Covid-19 in a 24-hour period, bringing the total active infection count to 4,093. The updated data at 8 am indicated three additional fatalities within that timeframe, with two from Karnataka and one from Gujarat. Although the daily case count had decreased to double digits until December 5, a resurgence has occurred due to the emergence of a new variant and the onset of cold weather conditions.
