Many Covid cases undetected as people refuse to take tests: Doctors
Tuesday, 2 January 2024 Doctors claim that rising respiratory diseases may be undetected Covid-19 cases due to reluctance to undergo tests. Rapid antigen tests (RAT) are resisted over fear of isolation or ignorance. To rule out bacterial and viral infections, doctors recommend complete blood picture (CBP) and c-reactive protein (CRP) tests. RT-PCR tests are suggested for those with persistent sore throat and fever, especially if family members have similar symptoms. A recent survey by IMA Telangana indicates a high number of respiratory illnesses, potentially related to Covid-19 and the JN.1 variant.
