Parliament security breach case: HC dismisses plea by Neelam Verma against police remand
The Delhi High Court dismissed Neelam Verma's petition seeking release in the Parliament security breach case due to illegal police remand. Verma had already filed a bail application before the trial court. The high court stated that there were no grounds for violation of her fundamental rights. Verma's petition argued that not being allowed to consult a lawyer of her choice violated her constitutional rights, rendering the remand order unlawful. The trial court has remanded Verma in police custody until January 5.
