SC stays HC order annulling Armyman's gunpoint shaadi

IndiaTimes Friday, 5 January 2024
The Supreme Court has stayed the Patna high court judgment annulling the marriage of an Indian Army personnel who was forced to marry at gunpoint. The HC had set aside a three-year-old judgment of the family court which had refused to annul the marriage. The man, an Army constable, lodged a complaint with the family court to annul his forced marriage. He moved the HC after the family court dismissed his petition. The HC ruled in his favor, stating that the evidence did not support the respondents' case.
