BJP weighs new J&K faces for Lok Sabha polls
BJP is considering fielding new faces in J&K in the Lok Sabha polls. The party sources indicated this after JP Nadda held talks with local leaders. The candidates for the Jammu region, Anantnag, Baramulla, and Srinagar seats have not been finalized yet. Incumbent Jammu MP Jugal Kishore Sharma may be replaced. Union minister Jitendra Singh is likely to stay on as the Udhampur MP. BJP won both Jammu seats but lost all three in the Valley in the 2019 general elections.
