Safer skies: Government revises rules to ensure an overworked & fatigued pilot doesn't fly you anymore

Government amends flight duty time limitation (FDTL) rules to tackle pilot fatigue. Revised regulations mandate increased weekly rest periods for flight crew. Airlines must comply by June 1, 2024. Airlines to submit quarterly fatigue reports following non-punitive and confidentiality policy. Definition of night amended. Union aviation minister introduces revised FDTL regulations, rest periods, and fatigue reports. Transition towards Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) planned. Changes include maximum flight time, flight duty periods, and number of landings during night. Reforms address pilot fatigue and enhance flight safety.
