IndiaTimes Monday, 8 January 2024
The Supreme Court Monday dismissed a plea filed against the Allahabad high court's order upholding the acquittal of Union minister of state for home Ajay Mishra Teni in the 2000 Prabhat Gupta murder case. A bench of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal said that it was not inclined to interfere with the concurrent findings of the courts below and dismissed the special leavepetition filed by a family member of the deceased. In May last year, the HC had dismissed the UP government's appeal filed against the acquittal order passed by trial court in 2004.
