BJP leader's plea against BJD for using symbol to promote welfare schemes declined
Friday, 12 January 2024
The Delhi high court rejected BJP leader Jatin Mohanty's petition, wherein he sought action against the Biju Janata Dal government in Odisha for utilizing its party symbol, the 'conch,' in the promotion of government welfare schemes through advertisements. The court raised concerns about the petitioner's choice to approach it instead of the Orissa High Court, where the advertisements were originally being issued. It said it is not unique to one state and it is the story of every state now.
