Congress keen on 20 UP Lok Sabha seats, but SP unlikely to give it so many
Wednesday, 17 January 2024 During the third round of seat-sharing discussions between Congress's national alliance committee and the Samajwadi Party on Wednesday, it was revealed that the Congress is eager to contest 20 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. However, SP leaders indicated that they are unlikely to allocate more than 20 seats in total for all their allies in the state, including Congress, Rashtriya Lok Dal, and Apna Dal (Kamerawadi). Sources said SP leaders told NAC members that the party is well prepared to contest 78 of 80 Lok Sabha seats.
