Lok Sabha polls: BJP appoints election in-charges, co-in-charges for 23 states, UTs
Saturday, 27 January 2024 The BJP has appointed election in-charges and co-in-charges for 23 states and Union territories for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Vinod Tawde is the in-charge for Bihar, along with Deepak Prakash as the co-in-charge. Baijayant Jay Panda is the in-charge of UP, and Dushyant Kumar Gautam for Uttarakhand. Laxmikant Bajpai is for Jharkhand while Biplab Kumar Deb is for Haryana.

On April 28, the Election Commission of India (ECI) directed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to revise the content of its Lok Sabha campaign song to adhere to the Advertising Codes outlined in the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994, and ECI guidelines. The AAP was requested to make necessary modifications to the song and resubmit it for certification. “The phrase “jail ke jawaab me hum vote denge” showing an aggressive mob holding the photo of Arvind Kejriwal showing him behind bars, casts aspersions on the Judiciary. Further, the said phrase appears several times in the advertisement which contravenes the provisions of ECI Guidelines and Rule 6(1(g) of Programme and Advertising Codes prescribed under the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994” (DISPLAY) said ECI.
