IT rules on fake news: Bombay high court's division bench delivers split verdict
The Bombay high court has delivered a split verdict on petitions challenging the amended Information Technology (IT) Rules. Justice Gautam Patel agreed with the petitioners, while Justice Neela Gokhale upheld the government's side. The matter will now be heard by a third judge. The government agreed not to notify the Fact Checking Unit (FCU) until the judgment is delivered.
