Cabinet OKs spectrum sale, fixes reserve price at Rs 96,000 crore

Government approves the sale of spectrum across eight frequencies, including for railway and metro safety, with a reserve price of Rs 96,318 crore. Spectrum auctions aim to enhance consumer mobile services and facilitate 5G expansion. Insolvency-bound companies' spectrum will also be auctioned. Reframing plans and spectrum reforms are set to be finalized by a committee chaired by the Cabinet Secretary.
