Friday, 22 March 2024 Election Commission directs Himachal Pradesh to suspend new forms for Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana under Model Code of Conduct, with CPI(M) backing Congress against BJP's complaint.
During an election rally in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, now a BJP candidate, inadvertently mixed up Tejashwi Yadav with BJP MP Tejasvi Surya while criticising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader for "eating fish". However, it was Yadav who had previously faced criticism for a video showing him consuming fish during Navratri. The rally, held in Mandi, highlighted Ranaut's political foray in the Lok Sabha seat. In her address, she not only attacked Yadav but also accused Surya of "hooliganism" and referenced his alleged fish-eating habits.
